  1. Ditto.

To each his own, and I appreciate the craftsmanship and all that, but dang if this style doesn't remind me of one of those dogs with a bad itch on its BEE-hind.

This is a great thread!!!! Taildraggers are at the top of my list as favorites!!!
I have 100's of pics of them, but most are from Before the digi :( . I did run across this one on my computer. I need to find out what the heck is wrong with my scanner, I'm pretty sure its just a hook up problem, worked great before we moved! I will have to see what I can do about that so I can share some shots!! :D Nice to see Cats 48 made it here!!! Great friend, beautiful ride.

Photos lifted from various places. As always, if they belong to you and you don't want them up here, I'll take them down.

    bejesus. . . this one deserves another look . . . thanks slow64

full fadeaway fenders, filled quarter windows (i never really go for that but it looks right and super period correct on some cars), tailights in the bumper guards. . . this looks right out of the little pages

whoever built this has a good grasp on the aesthetic. . .

And one more of the car in the 50's

And here is the front of the '36 Ford.

And here is another '36 Ford I showed before in this thread, but this time the front with wonderful molded headlights and '40 LaSalle grille and Olds bumpers.

How about the period perfect back of this DuValle/Carson style topped '36 roadster. '37 DeSotto ribbed bumpers, set in licence plate and perfect stance.

Single bar flipper hubcaps and lowerd headlights all fit the 40's styled custom perfectly. I love the look of the DuValle style windshield on a '36 Ford.

Convertible with Dark colored Padded top.

'36 Ford 5-window with '37 Ford front fenders. Channeled body, with raised front fenders and custom hood and grille.

'40 Ford coupe lowered a bit! and a georgious Buick grille added. Running boards where removed and body channeled over the frame.

Another 40 Ford this time a convertible with Packard grille and blanked out side grilles.

'39 Convertible with running boards removed.

40 Coupe with rear windows closed and Lincoln bumper, again running boards removed.

I would know that car anywhere. It belongs to steve AKA. El Hefe.
That is my all time favorite car. Followed closely by his other car the Golden Rod.

    Janne......

Those drawings you posted are beautiful. Do you do this for a living or is it just a hobby?

Your post with the photo of the Edsel made me wonder if anyone has used an Edsel grille in a Westergard style custom. It does have that vertical look like the LaSalle and Packard grilles.

Here is a photoshoped 40 Sedan.

Bullet Nose : Thanks! I am not living doing this yet. I am studying industrial design at this moment.

loogy: Thanks! That '41 Chevy belongs to Teemu Tourunen of Pistons Kar Klub.

Taildraggers rule! I've posted this photo before, it was shooted by me in DoDads Weekend a few weeks ago. Those bagged bottoms of Pistons' cars look gorgeous!
