Hey H.A.M.B. ers how's it going. Looking for some ideas on some colors for my 62 bird. Here is a picture of it thought I would ask the experts haha Oh ya, ignore the Landau top I'm planning on losing it.
I'm no expert, but I'd leave the paint alone, except for the top since you say you're getting rid of the landau.
Do something different. Orange soda (like on the building, not my example) and gun metal grey stripes on the roof. You could taper the stripes. Wider than what I've shown- I'm using Paint, dammit. Or, real thin so they're a little more subtle. Thanks, Kurt
I kinda like orange candy and black, but thats cause mine it that color. But here is a pic so you can see an option.
"Experts"...??? Gimme a break...all you're going to get here is "opinions"...everyone and their brother here has at least one...and every poster will try to sway you to HIS likes... Be an individual...paint it whatever color(s) YOU want...do not follow a crowd. R-
1. Gloss black with a candy apple flaked top. 2. Gloss black and replace the top with a leopard skin landau top.
I kind of like the Ice Blue that is on the Mini Cooper. It would be cool with some white tuck and roll and some whitewalls. Might even leave the top and dye it bone white. Candy red is good. House of Color Tangelo Orange is overdone, but I like it. Silver with Red upholstory is growing on me. Translucent Candy Gold rocks. Options, Options, Options...
I like it white with the landau roof....it's already lowered...it came from the factory that way..on a repaint it really depends on how crazy you want to get. Keeping it white would be simpler because of all the jambs and under the hood stuff. You could take off the vinyl roof and paint that to give it a custom look. Just looked over the car again and it is so cool the way it is. They are only original once and that one survived pretty good as is. But like they say it's your car now and make it like you want it. But some different hubcaps and wheels may give you the custom look you want.
The landau top wouldn't look bad if it wasn't for that signet on the side of it.....looks like a he**** haha
I wouldn't do nothing to the car except drive it. If you are hell bent on painting it I would go with plain old white pearl, period!
Aqua green metallic with a creamy white or pearl white top, and a creamy white leather interior and aqua green carpets. That's what I was planning on painting a '61 T-Bird I used to own, but never got around to it. Mine had the original pearl white looking leather interior in perfect condition, but ugly tan carpets.
