You can but just try, but I like the setup. BTW, have you ever seen a Traction Avant?? You have copied the setup exactly, so far. Cosmo
s-10 4x4 and 1988 up gm full size trucks have torsion bar front suspension. The full size is way to stiff and heavy for a T, but might give you some ideas. Sprint cars use short light weight bars (check out racing suppliers or Speedways website).
Heres a couple of pice of my wrecked Logghe altered roadster with a torsion bar. Note the bracing on the torsion tube. Here is a shot of the repairs recently completed. I upgraded it to shortie coil-overs (made by Logghe and came with the car) for more travel and adjustability.
Torsion bars are cool. The use of torsion bars is described in my HAMB project thread. To see the layout of the front and rear torsion bars on my track roadster go to http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=356019&showall=1 Note that the front bars are hidden in the frame rails. To the best of my knowledge, this initial design was first used by Greg Peek at American Track Roadster. http://www.atrackroadster.com/ cheers trackrodstr
exwestracer, Yeah, wheew...I feel like I dodged a BIG bullet. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather in Western Montana. Also, thanks for keepin' an eye on my project. charlie aka trakrodstr
Ummm, NO. Because I have yet to see ANY Mopar with REAR torsion bars. Or a Toyo, or a Chevy. But EVERY Traction Avant has torsion bars on all four corners. Arranged exactly like the car described, two longitudinal in the front, transverse in the rear. It was that, that I was referring to, the whole package. Cosmo
what these pictures arent showing you is that the drivers side torsion bar key is free sliding on the wishbone. what lee did was use the passenger side as the panhard for the front, so only one is solid fixed.
Bumping an old thread for a project someone is selling. Some info https://www.hotrod.com/features/dode-martin-jim-nelsons-dragmaster-t-bucket/ https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/dragmaster-dragsters-post-pics-here.164920/ https://tbucketeer.com/threads/tube-frame-ideas.7622/ https://tbucketeer.com/threads/who-made-my-frame.13110/ mentions "It might be a 'Speed Improvements' frame. They like Dragmaster were making tubular style frames for dragsters and t- buckets in the mid-sixties. There is a small B&W ad in my Oct 64 Car Craft" Found this https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ements-vintage-t-tube-frames-any-info.326904/ @porkshop
