Sometimes we just like to use what we have on hand if it can be made to fit our needs.

If the old parts don't really have a lot of meaning to you don't use them. Either buy a frame or have one made. Guaranteed it will be better than anything you can make out of a stock "A" frame. "The Look" of Ivo's or Grabowski's T isn't really in the frame. It is a combination of a lot of things. You don't just put together a bunch of parts and get it right. However if you really want a real '40s '50s early '60s traditinal rod most were on stock frames.

I am currently recreating a car my dad had in 1951 when he was 19. It is a 27 T body on a A frame, 59AB motor and three speed on the column. This is him by the car. I will post pictures as I build it.

I guess at this point I should explain that I am trying to recreate the car exactly, primered body same Autopulse fuel pump, same wheels, everything just like it would have looked in 1951. The picture of him standing by it was taken in El Monte, Ca. The wheel base will have the front wheels forward in the fender well, just the same as his.

The wheels are turned. Slightly to the left, exaggerating the wheelbase.
