What time period were they running wide white walls on T's?
I would love to see some pictures if possible...
I would like to redo my T in that style.
    Thanks

50s to early 60s. My opinion is that whites look out of place if the car has newer build styles and components. See the T above, it has all the right stuff.

Here’s one we built quite a few years ago.
    White wall inside and out.

That's what I'm talking about! My plan is to replace all the newer style stuff with period peices. Steel wheels, finned valve covers etc...

Most of our fenderless (and fendered!) hot rods from '55 on up to '62 had whitewalls, steel wheels. A couple even had port-a-walls...my buddy Wimpy had a '32 fivewindow highboy, black primered. Black tires, steel wheels, and '57 Plymouth type chrome full wheel covers...we pressured him to do whitewalls...he finally did.

Monogram's Big T kit. Oh how badly I wanted one as a kid but couldn't afford it. When I finally got one it came with a lousy set of blackwalls! Scan-190523-0001.jpg

Built lots of car models growing up. Always lusted after the "Big T", never got it...
And, yes, it is a lot of inspiration for my build!

Love that Novo grill shell. Had a Novo hit-and-miss engine years ago but it was hopper cooled...

Cool. The wide whites fit right in with the T's build Rustydusty. That fan shroud looks like it sneaked in from the billet era though and sure overpowers the engine area.

The shroud is going to be narrowed and painted when I paint the car black...

Definitely going to get a pair of white wall "cheater slicks" when I can afford it. Already have wider wheels on the back (7" vs 6" in the front)...

  30. Might help the 50's, 60's look if you dumped that axle mounted steering rack, and got some resemblance of ackerman going on...
White walls and turtle deck are nice improvements.
