T Coupe Door Sill Question.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by fiftyv8, Mar 14, 2009.

  1. The hinge thing and differences in three finger hinges as opposed to single finger hinges and also different types of inner windshield left and rite garnishes and the different hinges for the top of the windshield frames are 26-27 differences. Also door window garnishes from 26-27 are different. I have seen 3 types. I have a 26 coupe and a 27 coupe and have parted several of them so have come to know the differences in 26-27. Pat. Next time I am at the farm I will have to look at some of the other coupes to see if they have the same step plates as my 26 has. Pat.

  3. Just got back from the farm. From what I can tell from looking at all the coupes I have, about 5, the 26's used the tabs and the 27's didn't have tabs. The coupe also used a shorter version of the sill plate on the 27 than the 2-door sedan did because of the fixed seat riser on the coupe. Sedan didn't have a seat riser. Most of my coupes are missing the rain gutters, but I think one 26 and one 27 have them. Pat.

Well I found a model T Coupe with door sills. Not really what I expected as I thought they may have added to sealing the gap between the subrail and the door bottom.
These are the ones that fit into the slotted holes.
Besides the visible slotted holes in the door opening there are also 2 slots on the inside of the subrail near to the front of the door opening and also one slot that is in the side of the seat riser.
Now I have seen them and figured out how it all works, I will not be happy using them. I may make my own modified version or seek further info from Howell's.
