What Model A doors work on a 26-7 T coupe? Isn't is the truck doors from 28-9? Or will the 30-1 doors work also? r
Truck door hinges are different too, same location, but different hinge...you will either need both parts of each T door hinge, or, both parts of each A truck door hinge...
28-9 Model a pickup doors are exactly the same as 26-7 T coupe doors. Nothing else works. MrGasser has it correct on the hinges.
Becareful with the T coupe doors as some have that finger style hinge similar but not exactly the same as those found on the early model A roadster doors. I think these could be the 1926 T's and the 1927 T's seem to have a hinge more like the model A coupe or Tudor. Hence the 28/29 model A pickup door is more likely to fit with the 27 T's door. Hinges come up on ebay from time to time if they are not a right match but also make sure to get latches, good ones dont come cheap usually.
I can build hinges if it gets to that. How far off are other doors, say like 30-1 A coupe doors? Are they something that could be 'massaged' into the proper shape? r
completely different hinge area and the beltline is way different. I think the proportions are a lot different as well.
What is wrong with or how bad are the doors that you have? Can't they be repaired? Or are you missing the whole door?
Model A pickup and T coupe doors are much different to all the other model A closed car doors. The belt line varies even between 28/29 and 30/31 cars. I built a 28/29 model A closed cab pickup using tudor/coupe doors of the same year but had to remake the rear cab corners to match the belt line and used a coupe/tudor cowl to save the hinge issues. The other issue is that the T doors are higher and not square across the top as they slope forward and the modelA closed car doors are square on the tops. On my pickup with these odd doors I had to to build tapered infil panels to accommodate the shorter doors and the slope, then I had to install the pickup header panel on the coupe/tudor cowl and extend the A pillar posts to fit it and then work a sunvisor etc. Dont do it unless you have good skills and plenty of extra time.
The T coupe doors cost more than the bodys. The last set I saw had a price of $1500.00. You might try these guys. http://modelthaven.com/ Dean

Try HAMBer mcc7 John claims he can make anything. I've had him do work for me and am very satisfied. The picture is of his Shop Truck, yes he made the doors.
