Here's my Essex coupe. Not many Essex's around anyway so it's fun to watch people try and figure out what has been done to the T coupe.
Joecool, I would use mild steel tubing round or square to stiffen the body up enough to have doors work. I did this some years ago on a 29 roadster, doubled up the tubing (vertical) at the door post. Also added a triangulated brace behind cockpit. Made body Very stiff and never had a problem with doors. Regarding the debate on what to with your car, what SAm said and a clone of a AMBR winner was on the cover of TRJ and that was a coupe turned roadster! Done by the very talented Von Franco!
Holy shit...don't the ROACH just scream Hot Rod? Totally roadable too! Gotta hand it to ya Sam! Ya did good. Looking past the actual body choice and era styling...it appears you did NOTHING to make it look "cool"! Yet as a result of good construction and roadable enginneering, the car is totally "cool" AND a hard runner too! Theres a lesson in there somewhere.... Bill
