I'm thinking my next build needs to be a pre-'26 T "turtleback" roadster - track roadster style.

I'm not a T guy so I'd like to get some info on bodies. What are the differences in the roadster bodies from '15 through '25 and what will and won't interchange. I could easily end up building something up from a collection of body pieces if I can't find what I'm looking for more or less in one piece.

    Thanks in advance.

The early bodies up to '22 had a smaller firewall area ( I like it 'cause the engine looks bigger). Check out the "tbucketeers" site.

all the earlier bodies to 25 were wood skeltons and the tin or body was nailed to it.the 26 27 ones are all metal and a whole lot stronger.if you can work with metal you could make the body frame out of metal for the older ones.it`s been done.

When it comes to fibergl***, everything under the sun has been tried. Early cowl mated to 26-27 style rear section, stretched, widened, you name it. If you're looking at buying a gl*** body you really need to determine what it is before you buy because they are a real mish-mash.

1915-22 are basicly the same, Low cowl, 23-25 are Tall cowl. There are three different turtle decks that cover these years. Windsheilds differ 15-16, 17-22, and 23-25, No dash on the 15-22, 23-25 has one.

Thanks for the info guys. Based on what I've picked up here and other places I think the '23-'25 is what I need to be looking for. I've thought about gl*** but I think I'll hold out for "tin".

I have some photos posted on my website of an original 15-22 style body however it's the front half of a touring not a roadster but you'll see the original wood in place same as the roadsters used. Also see the 23 to 25 style windshield. The 23-25 style turtle deck looks great on track T.
