I agree, I like the dark red better.

My guess is regular red was within arms length when this was decided.

I am sure I will hear about this one!:D

ok, WE HAVE NOW ( RELUCTANTLY!) sanded the car down again and matched the paint with the suspension color of regal red. El terron ( as terry likes to be called when his hat is on backwards) repainted the scallops and i redone the hood and grill shell.
I came in this morning and cleaned up our mess , washed the car and took her for a spin down the street. Holy shit , its Dec 22nd and its warm in Indianapolis.:D
Look for the Simple T at the Indy Motorrama in Feb .

I moved the license ( brake lamp) lamp and plate holder to the middle and installed two old bee hive lights for tail lamps , one on each side..

    That's lookin real good, Bubba.

If you got roadster weather today, by tomorrow or monday it ought to hit us here in the asshole of the world (NJ).

And I'll be out in mine:D.

I already know my skinny tires will cut thru the crust to get out of the garage.

That id be a nice present for the east coast.

Ya, we just had to make the reds match. Now the scallops match the suspension. I still have just a few little items to tidy up before parking for the winter. Looking forward to puting some miles on her this summer.
Got to add a electric fuel pump ( the motor will out run the gravity system if pushed:)), hook up the air fuel jet so i can adjust the carb ( and choke) from inside the car.
Remove the floor board ( hopefully for the last time) and adjust the kevlar bands one more time.
Take the car to Toms for a stripe to accent the scallops. ( Nahomi volunteered for this job at Culbertsons).
Wire up all lights , ie brake lamp and head and tail.
May get all this done this week i hope...:):D:eek:

Ok, got the car back today. Hot Rod ( Tom C's cat) had taken ownership and kinda liked sleeping in it. Seems Tom got in another project vehilce with bars welded in it and tons of boxs in the interior right next to where the air from the furnace blows and hot rod had left my car for the warmer spot in the shop.
Naomi had painted 30G on the side and simple T on the hood. Also outlined the scallops with a blue outline.
LOOKS GREAT!! Took Tom for a spin down the street and brought it home. Looks good parked next to Lindrosses Dodgster at Bubbas. Finally talked Jacob into waxing the hood bird for me. Good job Jake !!!
Next stop Indy Motorama in Feb , hoping for a dry day and we can drive them the the show.

Put about 10-12 miles on the T today and it seems to drive pretty good overall. I have ordered a stabliser for the front axle and i think i will need some shocks at speed when hitting bumps. Other than that it runs really good , sounds like a old tractor in high gear lugging down the road with the split manifold ..........:D

THIS MAY NOT BE THE LAST POST ON THIS PROJECT BUT THE ICING WAS PUT ON THE CAKE THIS WEEKEND...

If ya been reading thru this project the major goal was to run the T at the Newport Hillclimb ( not realy competive geared as it is and all) I got that goal out of the way a few weeks ago. The car pulled the hill in high gear wqithout needing to shift down to low, and that is quite a T engine to make that pull.
The other was to "drive" the car to the Hundret Car Pile up in Morris Illinois ( 200 plus miles each way) I have been driving the T back and forth to the shop and have done a couple T tours this year and felt pretty comfortable at all road speeds and had used the disc brakes a couple times when really needed etc. The bigest concern was running the babbit splash oiling at 60-65 for hours at a time! After driving the first leg of 60 miles or so i still had oil in the crankcase and the engine seemed to run better every mile marker.
WOW quite a trip the only needed mod for the winter will be some friction shocks on all four corners etc. I almost bucked myself out of the car once on a large bump at 60 mph etc. Nice to feel air on your head but not under your ass...:D
Talked to tons of folks at the pile up and even had to try to convince a few the trailer wasnt hid some where nearby....
Another major goal crossed off my bucket list....

  27. Was a great trip and that little "T" scooted on down the road ~65MPH all day long. Took a couple extra stops just to make sure all was well.

There were 14 in our little band with Bubba Jim in the lead. And his little T was hard to catch and then keep up with. Great time with a great bunch of guys (and gals).

  29. Run Around Sue and I lead the pack of 7 of us from Morris back to Indy on Sunday.

That little car kept up without a hitch. Stayed in my rearview mirror the whole time.

I have a whole new respect for Model T's
