  1. 26-27 t roadster is undoubtedly my favorite for fenderless hot rods!

i can't see the pic very well; are those quarter elliptics on the front? got more pix? i've been thinking about 1/4 elliptics on my 26 T modified (front 1/2 of a touring car) but haven't figured out a shock system that's not ugly unless i use friction shocks. i've heard folks say that friction shocks don't work all that well on the street.

    comments? more pix?

I'm building a chassis for my roadster. I bought the body from GMCBubba and should have on the road by summer. Here are some of my favorites.

It's a transverse spring with perches welded to the radius rods. I used friction shocks, but model A Houdile shock would be better.

  12. IMHO, you could straighten out the front crossmember. That might get you two, maybe three inches without changing the look of the car, which, again, IMHO, is just about right! It would take a suicide perch, which on a square tube crossmember would be pretty simple. Just a thought.. Thanks, Mike

    Mike,
Thanks for the input! I'm totally rebuilding the front crossmember. I'll be using a model a style one that I got from WelderSeries, they're a great alliance vendor!
    Check out my build thread.

I have to find a rad to fit that grill shell and I cant afford a custom made one but the stance is real I zeed the A frame the thickness of the frame right out of the Tarbel book and added a posie reverse eye A spring with hangers on top of the banjo

thats awesome CheapnDirty, i know youll keep everyone up to date.

BloodyJack, its the perfect amount of Z in my opinion, maybe just a little more depending on the car. Its a shame about the radiator... Whippit shells are so cool, hope you can find somethin to keep that flatty cool.

Here is a crappy picture of the rear you can just see were I cut off the rear spring hangers, and the Whippet shell stays even if I have to drop the coin for a custom made radiator!

Bloody Jack . One of these 50's 60's sprintcar radiators might work for you. 4" copper core. They are plenty short one might work down in the wider part of your shell. This one was made by Ballard radiator . Jerry Day (a HAMBER) might be able to turn you onto one. Pm if you want the dimentsions. OB

This is a good thread idea and I don't even need to post a picture.of my car. The thing I think is the most interesting about these 26 -27's is that because they usually aren't on a T frame the proportions are all slightly different although a lot of the builds are quite similar. If you and your brother need a place to crash on the trip I'm only 1/2 mile from the Interstate exit. PM me. OB
