I have a 700r4 I put in my 37 Buick. Two things you need. At idle the cable has to be at rest with no slack on it.. Next at WOT the cable has to be pulled all the way out. I verified those two things, then hooked up a pressure gauge to the trans to check pressures. Most important was that the line pressure moved as soon as the throttle was opened, which it will if you have the cable set with no slack at idle. Works fine. I would just connect the cable to the TV geometry adjuster bracket you have there and check those things.

    Thanks All,

I've decided once the install is done I will trailer the car to a guy i've used for trans stuff and get him to double check that the TV cable is doing what it should. the Holley bracket 'should' correct the positioning of the TV cable in relation to the throttle shaft, so I hope that is correct.

The acclerator linkage should be ok, but that is still to be determined.

Does anyone know the pressures that should be recorded when checking the trans?

got the trans in and running. also swapped the rear ratio back to the 3.69. drove it home and it seems good. will be interested to see how it goes down the track. but so far so good. Now onto the disc brake swap...
