So I have read all the T5 links and still am confused. I posted a video of my clutch noise and the consensus was that it was the pilot bushing. So, I dropped the trans and tomorrow will pull the clutch. The pilot bushing does not look too bad from what I can see, but I'm going to get a new one and a new throw out bearing. The 235 is out of a 61 truck which when I do a part search comes up with a pilot bushing with the specs as follows: .594 x 1.094 Type A Length .750. The throw out bearing inner 1.375 outer 2.76 width 1.9531 or 1.2461 The trans is out of an 85 S10 which takes this bushing: .592 x .828 Type A Length .746. the throw out inner 1.3775 outer 2.77 width 1.21 OR inner 1.7498 outer 3.44 width 1.99 Which pilot bushing and throw out bearing should I use? does anyone have part numbers of ones they have used?
Use the pilot bushing for the engine that you have. The S10 pilot bearing is too small to press into the 235 crank.
