I need your opinions, I'm about to purchase a s10 t5 but was wondering if the transmission is the same for a 4 cyl and a 6 cyl. Is there a difference or am I good to go? IT's out of an '88 by the way.

If you search this site under "T-5 transmission" you will find hours of reading that will answer all your questions.

The T5 meant for a V6 S 10 had a different gear set, and is more desirable for a V8 powered rod. Buy it, if you dont like the ratios, they can be changed at overhaul time.

depends on if its a divorced bell or not. if not, its more than likely the small chev pattern for the little motors and the trans is useless... read the t 5 tech... its got everything you'll ever need to know in there.

You cannot know which gearset you have by application alone. You MUST decode the tag. While there are some 'rules of thumb', they are based on year, not engine.

Click on the T5 Tech link in my signature line...
