T5 speedo drive gear problemo

    Seems the drive gear on my S-10 5 speed is stripped. One too many bends in the cable(dummy), anyway local GM parts guy says he can't get new ones. Anybody know of a source?? Is the driven gear in these same as turbo 350? Thanks

    Was wonderin' what year your S10 setup is that still had mechanical speedo?.. I'm trying to swap T5 and was told the S10 tail housing would work but speedo would be a problem...

    I think it is an 85, I'm not sure what year they changed to electronic speedometer. There is a good tech article done by a guy from the inliners international club, try Goggling t5 transmission conversion or inliners t5 swap. He talks about years, etc. There are converters that allow mechanical speedometers and electronic transmission senders to work.

    call kiesler engineering there in tenn. they are experts in t-5s and have all kind of spare parts
