Has any one used Limeworks swanneck t5 conversion? there catalog says they can convert your shifter on an exchange basis or you can do it your self by ordering the shifter itself.
I "converted" one myself - you can too. Just adapt a gennie piece to the T-5 stub. I did it by cutting the stub off, then cutting down it vertically, so it was a half-moon shape. I cut a Model A shifter to match. Three threaded holes in each piece and bolt it together - easy peazy. You can see a pic in this month's banger thread - first post.
I'll be doing this tonight. I have T-5 shifter that I'll be connecting to a '57 Chevy truck stick. Early Ford necks should be similar. If I remember, I'll take pictures, but the process couldn't get much easier. Cut, cut, grind, grind, drill, drill, tap, tap, bolt, bolt, and install.
I fitted this a couple of weeks ago....it`s one of Speedways shifters....just cut the existing stock shifter to mirror image the cut on the new shifter and they bolt together...30 minutes of a job.
My buddy gave me a Hurst shifter for free so I purchased a Hurst short throw shifter mechanism from Egay for $69 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hurs...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
