Okay folks, I know this topic has been covered in various threads. I've looked high and low. This is the issue I'm having. I have the transmissions out of a 93 Sonoma and a 93 Firebird Formula. Everything fits and lines up, minus the bearing out of the Sonoma. The clearance issue is not with the flinger itself, the inner diameter of the bearing cannot fit around the Firebird tailshaft. It is two big to ride on it evenly if it stays in place anyway. The question is can the bearing be eliminated? The oil flinger is nearly the same in both, just the Sonoma has a little larger diameter for the tailshaft. The height measurement is the same. 20180811_183641[1].jpg Above is the NWC. The oil slinger is the same and will stay in place, but the bearing cannot fit with the WC shaft the way it is. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am going to be attempting this same swap or at least would like to. Did you come up with a solution to this oil flange issue
