Tachometer reading whacky? One of the problems that often comes up after doing an engine or ignition conversion is getting the tachometer to indicate properly. Reasons include different number of engine cylinders, or new ignition signals that are incompatible with the original tachometer design. I had this problem when swapping a 6-cylinder engine into what was originally a 4-cylinder car. I wanted to maintain the use of my original tachometer which matched my other gauges. So, I developed a small electronic adapter that goes in-line with the tach-signal to restore the proper pulse shape and rate to satisfy the original tach. This is a "non-invasive" solution. No removal or changes are required to the tachometer. TACH-ADAPT works with 4, 6 or 8 cylinder engine signals from points, CDI or Engine Control Modules and provides an output that will work with most 4, 6 or 8 cylinder tachs. Feel free to contact me by email ratech@pacbell.net to discuss your application and request an info sheet on this great little solution.
