Okay, here's one for you guys with stone stock '52-'54 Ford cars equipped with turn signals: With a turn signal (left or right) activated, does activating the brake lights (by pushing down on the brake pedal) cause the turn signal to stop flashing and burn steady? (Both brake lights on, no turn signal flashing.) Does the light start blinking again when the brake pedal is released? Does the front park light continue to blink even if the rear light burns steady? Anyone...?
Rear keeps blinking with the brakes on, and the front continues. I don't think I have anything special, but thats what mine does.
I'm trying to figure out how the '52-'54 Ford turn signal switch works without taking one apart. So I need information specific to our cars, not information in general. This is the one question I can't answer myself since none of my Fords are operational at this time. Thanks, all, for any info you can provide.
Ok lets see if I can make this clear as MUD!! The power for the brake light goes from the brake light switch ,which in these cars is pressure activated , up the colume and is transfered out to the rear brake lights. As you activate the turn signal it takes power away from the brake switch and uses the power from the turn signal for the rear light Thus allowing the side that has been activated via the turn signal to blink as well as allowing the other side to display the brake light. This is good for all most all cars Hope this helps
