I guess time will tell. It's cheap enough to re-do if necessary. Still way cheaper than $500 in replacement lenses.
I think that instead I would do this. http://www.alumilite.com/HowTos/TailLightMoldingNoEquipment.cfm Make your own lenses brand new. Looks like it would work well. And would not be that hard to do.
I have used that before on my o/t car. Had one of those one piece lenses that was red, orange and clear. I made the orange part red, so it was red and clear. Much cheaper than buying new lenses.
If you have clear lenses with a lot of crazing on them, you can slime them full of vaseline and let them sit for about a week. I've had really good luck bringing back reverse lenses and horn ring center caps with this method. I'll have to do a before and after pic next time.
Meadowbrook, looks great I think you nailed it. You might try 56 chevy taillight reflectors to replace yours . They certaintly look the same.
Unfortunately the Testors will not hold up to the UV exposure. I redid mine with HOK Brandywine candy and UV resistant clear and they have looked new for 3 years.
Good thinkin bro, I love some $ savin ideas, really cleaned up the cool ass MoPar hinny. Atta Boy!! ~sololobo~
The latest issue of the Antique Automobile Club has an article on casting plastic lenses. I'll pass on particulars if anyone is interested.
