I had 50 Lincoln Cosmo lights on my Shoebox and always liked the way they looked. Still got a cherry set too waiting for my next custom project...

  5. Here ya go. I fell in love with the Packards a long time ago. Finally scored a pair this past fall. Next comes the installation.

Gee, I missed this thread the first time around.

'41 Studebaker is the coolest and most graceful taillight for teardrop cars like '40 Fords. Valley Custom used them on so many cars, they single-handedly made the Stude lights extinct!

'51 Pontiac (with the sharper-edged bezel) is a perfect, pure design. Placed correctly, they look nice on nearly anything.

'54 Merc looked great on the Merc. I've never cared for them on anything else.

    and, of course,

'41 Hudson are perfect for '36 Fords!

I don't know what's so cool about 50 pontiac lights, kind of dull to me. I know they have been used a lot on cars from way back, but you'd think people would want to be different. there's a lot of kick *** lights out there, personaly these are my fovorites. 60 chrysler.

No, they're mid-'30s Chrysler. Airflow Imperial, I think.

I'm a ****er for the Mercury Parklane tail lights. I've been saving these for a few years to find the right thing to put them on. They are over 36" long.

The guy who owns Ralph Ferks old Startling Starfire 53 old custom is looking for a set of those, that is what Ralph had on the car but they have long since dissapeared.

    Bob,
I'd like to see some pictures of that car. Those tail lights are actually monsterously hard to find. It took me about three years. I finally bought a whole car just to take the tail lights and pilfer the MEL.

Scoob, use this link. As I remember it he used 2 of those lights on each side to come up with that look. OG001 here on the HAMB used to own that car also.

    Those look like '63 Biscayne/Belair.
The Impala version has another chrome band around the light.
They are repopped but probably the most expensive Chevy tail light repopped.
I've got some but they're pitted and cracked :(
But I like them almost as much as the Lincoln/Mercury light NorwegianV8 posted.
The Stude lights 50Fraud mentioned are cool, but I wonder if the big shops actually scavanged them off wrecks or just bought them across the counter new. After all, they were still new(er) car parts at the time.
Those Mercury Park Lane lights would be bizzar/cool and the "pod" Imperial tail lights (and headlights) around the end of the 50's thru the early 60's would be good too

Don't forget the unobtanium '58 Edsel stationwagon tail lights!

Looks like the 37 ford taillights. That's what I'm putting on my truck. Picked up a set of reproductions at the swap meet last weekend.
