Taillight ID.....Carlisle find

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by -, Apr 23, 2004.

  1. The coolest thing I found (just about the only thing)was these taillights. What are they? the guy thought they were 31/32 Olds. They are pretty big and the way they mount to the body is strange for a car that old.

Saw a couple of HAMBers (shirts) but either they were busy or we were busy.

  2. Forgot to add that they are not for sale. They are going on the modified.

Some late 30s Nash had lites similar, mounted rather high just below the beltline, like in the bumps of the trunk......OLDBEET

  6. I think they are from a 1932 1/2 Henderson. They are super rare. I saw a pair sell on e-bay for $14,000 and there were 69 bids. I wouldn't even think of putting them on a hotrod. But if you must, I will understand [IMG]

Could you post a photo with a scale or ruler next to them.

  9. K9.. here's a pic next to a ruler. They are almost a foot long. The lens has Stimsonite on the bottom.

Roadstar..A Henderson? I was hoping they were the super rare "RAT ROD ROCKABILLY TAILLIGHTS". I guess I'll have to go back to Carlisle and get my money back.

I would start by looking at pictures of 1935 hearses.

I am not real sure because I can not get to the car but it looks a lot like the taillight assy on a friends 1936 Cadillac Fleetwood series 75 convertible sedan. If I am able to go into his shop I will check and let you know.
