was helping a guy with an early Ford 6 volt positive ground. It has a turn signal switch wired in and it works-kinda. Brake and signal lights very dim. Checked the usual--grounds etc--all good--pulled bulb--tailight contact 5.8 volts--car not running==brake/signal contact 3.4 volts!! Trace it out--has an aftermarket turn signal switch with small wires. 6 volts going into the unit past the flasher and 3.5 only coming out--this is a new unit as well. wire is small but this is right out of the switch-no connections. sounds like high quality stuff there. He needs to find an old old used or NOS switch, eh? or just buy one from a reputable company

agree Jim--searching now for him. It is one of those they sell with the hazard pull out knob and indicater lights. It is new as well-junk it only partial voltage coming out with no load. with the tiny wires it is obviously not compatible with 6 volts but still should feed 6 volts out with no load

Question is, who makes a good aftermarket 7 wire turn signal switch? I am going to need one for my car.

I have one like what is found on Amazon or Speedway that works fine but I never liked the hang on units. I mounted one on my 40 behind the stock column drop and operate it by using the original shift column that had the handle shortened and moved to the left side. It has worked perfectly although it does not self cancel.
There is also a very incon****uous toggle switch I have mounted on my roadster from Tickin Through Time that works great but here again it doesn't self cancel. However, the obnoxious buzzer reminds you to click it off immediately. I know they make a dependable 6 volt model as I had one on it before I went to 12 volts IMG_1866.jpg IMG_3881.jpg
