    Why do people buy cars just to let them sit and turn to crap? and why do they never want to sell them even when they have no intentions of doing anything with them?
    I would have to agree that you would probably have to offer at least what he paid for it in order to buy it, his wife seems to think you have no chance of ever buying it so there is probably a good reason.

    I had a talk with the gentleman yesterday. He said he had a '29 before going off to Korea. He wanted another. He said it's a '29 but I think everything we've discussed here definitely points to a '30. We talked about the war, the car, and how he planned on restoring the car after he retired. His health has put these plans on indefinite hold. I offered $3500 to see if he'd counter. He said he wasn't interested in selling. His wife's eyes lite up when I mentioned the $3500, so maybe she'll push him along. I can see this guy taking the time to restore this car.

    I'll check back with him in a few weeks so hopefully his wife will work on him a bit. I left my card, so I'd take a phone call too.
