I thought that $50 was for a lifetime alliance member fee?? I guess I'll stay a Greaser for life.

Thank you; Tom S. in Tn.........Lately there has been a bunch "elitest" whining about punctuation, wording, any ride that didn't have a $25,000 paint job(sprayed by a custom paint shop), don't like certain kinds of rods and are nasty about it, consider themselves the HAMB police and generally a bunch of ****ing snobs. Nobody on the Hamb wants to hear from terds like these guys except others just like 'em. You're a valuable ***et to the hamb and ya need to stick around!

 

Not sure nominating him would eliminate the issue, this place should not be about who is or isn't an alliance member. There are alliance members, myself inlcuded, who do not contribute what ****** does...

I have the same 'concerns', but as yet nobody has actually stated what my HAMB status 'should be'.
Gator is right on, you contribute MUCH in your posts. (having spoken with you, I can say we are at similar RPM)
As for nominating you for an Alliance membership in recognition, I third it.

 

******, i dont live by societies rules.i never have and never will.i still look like i did in the 70s. one of the main reasons i like your posts is i feel like you and i kinda live by our own rules.and i dont give a **** what the other guys on here think, you are a major contributer on here.humor and straight talk is why we enjoy your posts.and i dont like brown nosers either. but i do tell what i think and i think the hamb would loose a important part of itself if you take a walk.and it is a free sight the last time i checked.if they told me my 50.00 would save the hamb id send it in.but right now im spending every dime i get on parts.poser, i think not. ive seen a lot of paying members who i would consider posers.so if your reading this get your *** back here.dont let these paying posers run your *** off.hell old man, i or should say we want and need you here. that aint brown nosing just stating facts.

 

I'm still a new guy around here, don't post much, But I read and learn from quite a few. You can call this *** kissin if you want. But your posts do stand out in the crowd. Didn't think you would be one to worry about such things.

I'm just a FNG. I'm sure i've never posted a damn thing that anyone leaned anything from. If fact, i think the few posts i've made have only been to ask questions. Anyway, i guess i could shell out the $50 buck and be an alliance member. Whay haven't I? I think i tried a while back and something kept me from doing it. Wrong Credit card on me, computer F-up or something. I'm 100% sure that if i had joined the alliance, i still would be about .0001% as useful and helpful to the H.A.M.B. crowd as you are. If Ryan wanted to make this a "pay only" community, he could do that. He hasn't. Please divulge to us who made you feel this way so that we may consider what their contributions to the H.A.M.B. have been. I doubt they will be as useful or as considerable as yours.

Why not ask the man himself?

P&b please dont let a few people stop or discorage the friendly,sometimes blunt, but knowledgable contributions you make here. I have been into cars my whole life but i concider myself a novice about vehicles pre-60s. People who have done things before and are willing to share there learned talents with anyone who needs it are in my book invaluable. i dont post a lot but im reading here daily and that knowledge will hopefully produce a better result when my car is done.
I am not an alliance member at this time but it us purely a monetary reason,when i can afford to and want something from those businesses i may join.
Whatever you choose to do let me say thank you for what you have done. I'm sure i just made your list for *** kissers but so what,people should help each other when feeling down,aggrivated,pissed off or whatever. Take care and hope you come back soon.

 

Also new around here, Your contributions to the site are far more important to HAMB members than the $50 contributions others make. I think it's an envy issue for them. I for one hope to keep reading your frank opinions on posts for a long time.

Strangely I was having these same thoughts as '****** last night...
I am no where near the contribution level for quan***y or quality. I have been an Alliance Member for a few years now but after a mild winter (being a snowplower) I just dont have the cash to send in.
I started to think about the HAMB...I'll stop there, this isnt about me.

Since when does an Alliance Membership or not make you/me/us a poser or an elitist? What a pile of horse****.

I buy a membership because it helps Ryan keep the lights on, plain and simple.

 

I don't know what to say other than I have always found your posts to be informative and usefull. I hope you decide to continue just as you always have.

 

Take a break if you need to, but just remember that most of us enjoy your posts.

Those that say your a poser need to take that 50 bucks and go buy a life.

 

Hey ******, When any thread starts to be a ***** session, and I see your avatar, I p*** over all of it to read your input. It usually turns it all around to a "Laugh at yourself, we're her for fun" train of thought. Just what the thread needs. I look forward to your input on ANY thread. Your mechanical knowledge, and Hot Rod stories are the kind of stuff that we're all here for. I'd hate to think we wont be hearing from you for a while. This place needs you.

As much as I enjoy the HAMB I have not been comfortably able to renew my subscription. If that makes me a poser...tough ****. At least I know now that I'm in good company.
