taking pictures while driving a roadster...

    I do some autocrossing. It's neat to look at in-car video of my runs. Plus in theory I can use it to learn and improve my driving.

    Anyway, I made a camera mount by using the head off a cheapo tripod. I mounted it to my package shelf by attaching it to some **** I found in the electrical conduit section at Home Depot. All bolted to the shelf with wing nuts. A little flat black paint to mask the ugliness. The video comes out excellent. You see my hand position on the wheel, when I shift, and a good view out the windshield.

    I know y'all aren't autocrossing your rods, but maybe the concept could be useful to somebody.

    Oh yeah, there are a bunch of ready made camera mounts for sale out there too. I know I/O Port is one brand. Some suction cup models too. But mine was sure cheaper. Like 99% cheaper.
