I'll add another hint : LANE OBSERVANCE. Do NOT turn from the left lane to the right lane or vice-versa. My old man taught me to drive, and didn't know this; he thought it didn't matter on four-lane roads (or city streets). I got gigged the max on every turn I made. The tester was nice enough to explain exactly why I failed (no, I didn't tell my old man). I went back two weeks later (with my mother):) and aced it. Another thing; don't worry about parallel parking; there's not enough points to fail the test there even if you really botch it up (well, no accidents anyway). Get gigged 8 points for every turn you make will cause you to fail big time; I know.

My first driving test was at an armory in tenn. Had a circle drive in front. I was so nervous. The lady comes out says "take a right at the road, then a right at the first driveway, and then stop"! Said you p***ed, all I did was go around in a circle in front of the armory! Now all you need is a rod to work on and money for gas and insurance...:D

You know! 7 out of 10 sixteen year old boys die within the first year of driving while ************ at the same time. (Don't know where I heard that) Something to think about. Be safe out there! Just saying! Just kidding! Now go build a hotrod.

Hey, Larz, good on ya for p***ing the test! My oldest was so nervous, he had to take the written three times and the driving portion twice!

Depends on the State, what you can drive, what hours you can drive, and who has to be with you when you have a learner permit.

In some States, you can get a permit to drive a farm vehicle or truck anywhere from age 12 to 15. Other States, you can get a motorcycle permit at 14. Most States allow a learner permit at age 15-1/2 for cars and light trucks, for a regular license at age 16. A few States require a fully-licensed driver to be 17 or 18 now. You must be 18 or older to drive commercially in nearly all States.

  18. In Arkansas you can get a permit at age 14. Under normal cir***stances you must drive under the supervision of an adult until you are 16. But exceptions are allowed. For example permission can be obtained to drive to school if a need can be demonstrated. Or to and from a spouse's place of employment if they can not drive for some reason.
