Original mileage implies that the car has only been drivin that corresponding mileage of the odometer. And the car is original factory...Not a rebuilt 14,000 miles since ground up resto... Get it? Got it? Good..hehehe!!
Maybe the original owner bought it...and the next day Nader's book came out and they got scared to drive it!
after reading the sales slip..it was definitely privately owned and stored...Man that was a smart thing to do..Maybe the guy passed on and these guys bought it at an estate sale>>??
In high school a buddy's mom bought a brand new Corvair. He talked her into letting him take it out the first night she owned it. There were six of us in it and he was showing how fast he could speed shift. He left most of the transaxle strewn along Magnolia Avenue. It had about 13 miles on it
No the smart thing to do would have been to buy a Hemi Dart for about the same price. You want a Corvair for cheap? The yards here are full of them. And they pay $50 for a whole car.
A car rental place here has a brand new Vega, the red, white, and blue special edition...1976 Spirit of America, or something?? An even better investment--I bet it would bring as much as a late Yugo. And whoever bought it would probably pull the steering and leave the brand new hulk sitting right there. This may be the rarest car in NJ now--I haven't seen a vega on the road or even in the junkyard for at least ten years. There are probably more Tuckers than Vegas left...
Bruce, I've heard that Vega's started rotting on the showroom floor. Marcus, I don't even want to know why you are looking at Corvairs on Ebay. Although you will probrobly have a brilliant reason. Billy
Not that the fit and finish of Corvairs was all that great, but the front valance doesn't fit right, and the door is sagging. Could this thing been wrecked in the front with 13.9 miles on it and rebuilt recently?
How 'bout this one... ...all original and only 4600 miles! This was at the Fabulous Fords Show. <img src=http://images5.fotki.com/v70/photos/9/9586/869806/Dsc07899-vi.jpg> <img src=http://images5.fotki.com/v57/photos/9/9586/869806/Dsc07900-vi.jpg> <img src=http://images5.fotki.com/v71/photos/9/9586/869806/Dsc07901-vi.jpg> <img src=http://images5.fotki.com/v70/photos/9/9586/869806/Dsc07902-vi.jpg> <img src=http://images5.fotki.com/v71/photos/9/9586/869806/Dsc07903-vi.jpg>
Man thats beautiful!!! The reason why I know about this corvair is.My brother has that 66 and he was searching ebay for similar cars trying to get a feel for the market...thats all believe me....not much into compact cars...
One of my customers has a mint 36 ford 5 window with 476 miles. another customer with a 57 T-bird with 400 miles. problem is they own them but can't drive them.
ok its a vair thread anyways..... do all vairs have all rubber fuel lines? the last couple ive crawled under had factory looking clips holding rubber fuel line up to the floor pans front to rear :S
it had 509 miles on it when he got it, it is an old drag car from the chicago area. the motor got blown up in 1967, and the car sat. it changed owners a few times, then he got it. he put the new motor together, and has probably driven it a few thousand miles in the past year or two. David
