I'm looking for pics and infos about fenderless hot rods & especialy modified with tall tires, wire or solid wheels, 17 & 18 inches.
If you have tire size infos with the pics, it's even better !
    thanks !
I will maybe run some on my modified project, I have some french 17'' wire wheels and also some big solid 17" and 18" with 5x5,5 bolt pattern.
About my project, you can check this thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99260&&showall=1

I have a pair of 6.00/6.50-18 Firestones on Astro van spare saver wheels (18x4 5-5 bolt pattern) on the rear of my A project. I originally had them on my T-bucket. Almost 31 in. tall. Since I'm at work, I don't have any pics right now.

    and also this one:
The Rick and Roy custom wheels started as ’33 Oldsmobile centers before they were welded in new 17x4.5- and 18x6-inch hoops. Adding the Moon discs when the mood strikes can change the entire look of the pickup. Firestone wide whites (6.00/6.50-17 and 7.00-18) from Coker provide some rubber rake.

    Firestone doesn't have a 7:50x19 tire. Their largest 19" tire is a 7:00x19 and it's 32.75" tall. Their tallest 18" tire is a 7:00x18 and it's 31.12" tall. Their tallest 17" tire is a 7:00x17 and it's 30.70" tall. Here's my car with a 7:50x16" Firestone and it's 31.48" tall...Excelsior's tallest 19" is a 7:00x19 and it's 32.78" tall.Their 18" tire is a 7:00x18 and it's 31.72" tall and their tallest 17" is a 700/750x17 and it's 32.00" tall..I hope this helps. I researched the hell out of tires before I found the combination I liked......Mike

Not to go too OT, but what kind of lugnuts does that wheel use? I bought some 19" wheels that have giant lugnut holes just like that.

    Thanks.

I don't have the good lug nuts now, the one I tried was too small (almost the hole size).
I don't have started to find something, but will soon.

Keep on searching wheels from late 20´s Fiats or Chryslers. They both are huge... Or space savers from new SUV´s.

  13. Big lug nut holes huh ? Chances are the wheels had a second life under a farm trailer. Farm trailers very often have the old Ford bolt pattern but with larger bolts. That,s why the holes have been enlarged.

no, the holes haven't been enlarged.
I will try to check how are the original lug nuts for those cars.
But will certainly not work with the ford lugs...Big headheaches coming soon :)

Here's our Bonneville sedan, it has 18 inch steel wheels on the back made by Stockton wheel (long wait), the tires are 32 inch tall dunlops.
