Tape-wrapped springs: Anybody done it?

    My '47 Ford the rear spring is wrapped in tin. When I did the front I ground all the worn in grooves off and used the spring lining from speedway. It really rides nice. I don't know if you can use grease also with the lining. I didn't see the need.

    Looks like laquer coated string/twine/rope of some sort...
     
  4. need a better detail shot to see if it is a twine wrap, that is then shelaqued (shelac?) or what was done. but this definately the look that i am going for.
