Hi, i'm new on this Forum; i'm living in south of france and i'm workin' on an hot rod project.
i've bought a '30 cabriolet with a lot of rust one year ago. I'm gonna powered it with an econoline 302 SB Ford and want a traditionnal channeled hot rod look with split wishbone and buggy spring rear end.
i'd like to use a F1 steering box on original position and i like to know where can i found a tapered hole pitman arm for it ?

    thanks

F1 boxes and ford cross steer boxes(30's thru 48) share the same internal parts.
A ford passenger pitman arm will fit a F1 box and uses a tie-rod end instead of a ball/socket.

If getting rid of the ball is the issue, why not just saw it off, drill a hole, and taper to suit? Speedway and several circle track suppliers have reamers in standard automotive tapers.

  6. If the splines are same as the 53-56 F-100 box (I think they are), then use a pitman arm off a 57-60 F-100, it is the same as the 53-56 ball and socket arm, except has the tapered hole for a tie rod end.

F-100 spline is not the same as the F-1
