Does anyone know where these can be purchased? Saw a picture but can't find a source. They fit in the conical 60 degree aluminum rim mounting hole so a 12mm nut can be used in a rim designed for a 14mm lug nut. Thanks for any help!

A 60º cone is a 60º cone. A slight difference in lug nut diameter is not meaningful.

Search lug hole insert, or wheel insert. Or check out prestigewheel.com.

All my wheels have 60 degree bevels and never used or needed a washer. Is there a reason yours need them?

  5. The old cast aluminum wheel adapters had cone shaped lug nut ships shipped with them. If that is what you need, I have some available. How many do you need ? If you give me your e-mail address, I will send you pictures of what I have.

Thanks for the replies! Some of the newer aluminum rims are designed to use bigger studs and bigger tapered lug nuts. The smaller studs and their tapered lug nuts are too small for the bigger hole. There is about a .200 difference so the smaller lug nut taper barely contacts the rims tapered hole. The HAMB comes through again with Chris' post above about Prestige's site; they have the conical washers.:)

you could also use "bulge" lug nuts....might be a better solution

Gorilla sells conical lug nut for Aluminum wheels with a shanks that go into the wheel bore. I bought them for my American Torque Thrusts and recommend them for any wheel that the lug/wheel doesn’t use a hardened flat steel washer under the lug.

  9. Years ago I worked for a Parts store that had the complete Dorman wheel line in a stand up cabinet. There were tapered cones with a slot in one side.Look at their on line catalog, and see if any are the size you need.Im sure once you have a number someone online stocks them.
