Well said...now that so much billet is coming from China even the goldchainers are shying away. When your bling becomes affordable for the masses it's time to move on...

Dude, that is shit! You and Keith are the biggest losers ever!! I cant believe for a second that you would put that in Your hot rod!! Now the best thing to do is, pull it out and and send it to me. So I can have some of the Tardel/Cochran "MAGIC". You guys are my heroes! Jimmy White
It's cool, because it was made by a couple guys putting their heads together and coming up with something that is artful, yet useful. Like someone said... buying a bunch of period stuff and bolting it on a car doesn't make the car a period car. It's the "feeling" you get... and shit, even if it ISN'T period perfect... it can still be COOL if it is made by a guy laboring over what looks right. So ryan, let us in on the secret as to why it's called the Tardel/ Cochran Tach Mount... how did you guys make it, come up with the design etc... teach us man, teach us. Sam.
He's probably calling it the Tardel/Cochran Tach mount, since it's in the "Tardel/Cochran" coupe.... Looks great, by the way! Malcolm
Yeah, this one is completely from the mind of Casey man... He came up with the design and made it happen all on his own. All I did was deliver the tach and some words. He is REALLY talented. I think once I get shots of the piece in the car, folks won't care what or how it was made... It looks perfect on the column and in the car. I love it.
My first thought when seeing that was "artistic", not "billet". Hell, it's almost Art Deco. The shape of the mount really accents the design of the gauge. Home run Ryan and Casey!
Come on guys, we've been making shit out of alluminum PLATE since we all worked in machine shops, that's why all us hot rodders got jobs. So we could do "gov't" jobs. And build the stuff that we couldnot buy. It ain't "Billet" unless you bought it. Very cool part. Once it weathers to a nice dull finish. Frank
You sir speak the TRUTH!!!! I'm thinking about casting HAMBANDYs coulmn drop, then machining the coulmn hole and adding threads to mount it. WORD!!!! BILLET RULES, when you machine a part out of a piece of billet material, it doesn't have to be aluminum. HAMBANDYS coulmn drop will be made from brass, or COPPER if I can afford the material. I need to get to work on that coulmn drop, the builds all ready started, and all I have so far is a drawing of it
Well played sir, that's super cool. I don't know if it would ruffle some folks feathers about the "period look", but I think ditching the hex bolts for some low head socket cap screws would finish it off nicely.
