I'll post the rest of the car on Thursday's Jalopy Journal entry-- Its just as tastefully executed as the interior. My dad is a perfectionist (just like his buddy Don), so the whole car is finished quite nicely.

Nicely done. I like the padded look, very luxurious! Reminds me of a Lincoln or something similar.

Those mid 50's Studes are some of the best looking cars ever, especially when it has a fab interior. So, is the rest of the car as nice as the interior?

I am undertaking an auto upholstery apprenticeship and aspire to do work that nice. It must take quite some time to develop that reputation and skill level

  8. I hope Mr. Kite takes the time to teach at least one person how to do quality work like that. Please encourage him to apprentice someone on his "poke" jobs and p*** on the talent!

I knew Don Kite in KC in the 60's. His work was the gold standard even in those days. He is a unique individual and I hope you were able to get to know him too. Even back then demand for his work was larger than the supply. So he always "chose" his customers rather than the other way around.

Yeah, more pics of the Stude.
