Hey Folks,,I've searched here for an hour and can't find much of what im looking for. Im installing shocks on the front of my T, and im trying to find a short shock that is around 7 inches compressed. Speedway offer one that is 7.5 compressed, but id like to get that extra half inch of travel if I could. Does anyone know of a company or part number?
Are you using regular tube shocks? Your local auto parts store might be able to find what you need in their computer if you just talk to them and explain what you need.
In the “generic suspension question “ thread links and posts with pics of shock specs are in it. Might help you out.
Modify your shock mounting ... Your front axle will probably only travel 3/4" up & down , max 3" " on a severe bump
I have the chrome Speedway T shorty shocks (uncovered rod style) on my roadster and have wondered if they're still doing their job, so this thread is of interest. I don't want to hijack the thread, but I'd be curious if someone has a recommendation on a really good quality shock for the front of a T. I'd even consider a high $$ adjustable shock if there is one available. Sorry for the intrusion.....back to the original question. Lynn
that makes me feel a little better about it. I think i'm going to use the short speedway shocks,,they have a 9 inch ride height,,and my mounting option is gonna be just under that. Wanna makes sure it won't bottom the shock out
Pete and Jake's have a 7.25, maybe keep looking through there https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...UyVO5OQtV5bm2NpETooREOCHOMfIvj9hoCmqYQAvD_BwE .
I use 3 way adjustable. speedway has them in chrome. I put a zip tie on the shaft and check travel that way. Tells me how much they move up and down.
