TC roadsters swap meet

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by four-thirteen, Oct 20, 2003.

  1. I made off with some pretty good parts at todays swap at the fairgrounds. Got some gauges for the altered A, front spring for the deuce pickup, an electric water pump drive and a pretty good stack of hot rod mags from the 50s to the 70s. A friend picked up a new old stock pair of m/t cheater slicks too. All in all a pretty good swap. Saw some hambers too.
At home I was paging through my new magazines when, in the middle of the july '71 hot rod, was sitting a copy of Sir! yearbook, a nekid picture magazine with the same date. [IMG]A bit odd... Dave

  2. i scored some deals too. got three 45-fin buick drums for $80. got an 8" ford granada rear for $40, also a pair of 42-48 spindles for $40. nothing i really needed right now,but now i have them for future projects.a buddy got a `32 wishbone for $50.another buddy bought that `29 roadster PU on duece rails project.that was a deal!wish i had taken a picture, maybe i'll snap some next time i'm there.it's supposed to have a good running flathead,we'll have to see.

he offered it to me last night for what he paid,i better give it some serious thought

Man I met all kinds of HAMBers out there, I am sure I missed more... I am terrible with names so I can't remember all of you. I'd like to thank the cool guy that sold me a great set of artillery rims and it was fun talkin about your projects for a while very cool HAMBer.

Also found a set of buick drums (the fine finned variety) for pretty reasonable. There was some very cool things there and for non-ebay prices.

It was a good swap meet, I got a pair of Guide headlights, a Stromberg 48, a pair of 4" wide 40 wheels and a set of chrome reverse wheels for 5x5.5.

Perfect weather and a **** load of swappers.

  6. Um, I don't think I'm a friend of barry weeks. But I'm not sure. A bunch of people know me but I really don't know them.... I've got to quit thinking that some of that stuff is out of my price range. I saw the '32 wishbone and thought He'd want too much, so I didn't ask. He had some '32 axles that went way too cheap too. Man that rpu was neat, and looked like a good start on a project. Would have been mine if I had more than $132 with me. Dave
