TECH: Filling a Deuce shell...purists beware!!

And yes it is a gennie shell.

 

There might be a better way but this is simple.....cut out cap reveal.

 

20 gauge cut piece.

 

Little slice....shape the peak.....tack.

 

Fit the piece and clamp.

 

TAC TAC TAC.

 

TAC TAC TAC TAC TAC. I also cool it with a damp shop rag.

Looks good...
but...
just something that took me a while to figure out,
if your gonna do a patch panel,
rounding out the RIGHT ANGLES (90 degree)
limits the amount of warpage.
On this grille shell they were near that lip so not as much an issue,
but on a flatter surface it ends up being a big help,
both in the welding and grinding.
