I used to have some early Hemi heads.... I think the best feature is the total absence of shrouding around the valves
Ford? Ha, You pretty much had to know Henry Ford Jr to get any hipo parts back then where I lived. Their parts availability situation was sorely lacking. Or maybe I just didn't know how to find them.
it was kind of like finding hemi parts today, you gotta know the secret handshake. That's why I love chevys, they're everywhere
Well, with the price of a 426 these days, I'll have to pass. Almost bought a 241 once, then realized that after I spent a fortune on it I could get 210 horsepower out of it, I had to pass. I'm Chevrolet, 100%, except for the hemi in my 17 Ram
Apples to apples, I'll take your 9 second, shore to shore driven, big block Chevy any day of the week
Sophomore in high school at the time. Got my '36 Willys coupe from another classmate for $75. Had to work and save up all summer to afford them.
I know a guy that has a 34 sedan, the story reminds me of you. He gave $100 for it in the 60's, still drives it today
Like anything else, the first one is the hardest. Get one and then they find you. It’s kind of weird thing, almost like the hemis don’t want to be alone, they know. Sounds absolutely crazy but that’s what happens. The only way you’ll know it is to see for yourself. Pontiacs seem to be catching up cost wise.
