TECH: Make a 4 door into a 2 door

I'm trying to see the 4 to 2 door conversion on the Plymouth, but all I'm getting is the little boxes with the red X in them. Are these pix posted somewhere else? thanx. db

 

They all still work for me, they're photobucket links and they have not been moved or deleted. I'm not sure why you can't see them, could be a browser problem, some settings where you can't view links?

Hell, I'll email you the pictures if you really want to see them. Let me know if you don't get it figured out, or if anyone else has any ideas.

i usually cringe and barf in my mouth a little when i hear "convert a 4dr into a 2dr" but that worked out pretty well on that mopar, and the parts car u used was junk anyway. You were able to cut it up and use it instead of sending it to the crusher, nice job.

Since this thread got raised up from the dead again, I just wanted to add this link to show some updated pictures of the car. The conversion turned out great and was pretty simple, I would do it again in a heartbeat, and I do plan on doing it to my '57 Chevy once I get some other projects finished. The car still needs some work but it is fully a 2 door now.

I just found this thread and glad I did. I also own a survivor '60 Savoy 4 dr. I'm not cutting it up but I know where a 2dr '60 is sitting in a junk yard with the pieces to do this conversion. So I'll salvage them in case I find another 4dr to do this conversion on. Great looking job!!!

Has anyone tried this on a chevy 53 4 door? I can do it all day long in photoshop just wondering if they used the orginal doors to start with or got a set off of a 2 door?

Can this conversion be done on a '61 Plymouth???

 

Did you even see the first page of this thread?

 

I re-read the 1st page and there is no mention of this being done on a 1961 Plymouth.

 

If it's a post sedan and not a hardtop, the process will be exactly the same as on my '60, they share the same doors and rooflines. In fact, you could do it with a '60 donor car if that's what you found.

The doors and jambs from any '60 or '61 Plymouth or Dodge 2 door post would work. If your '61 Plymouth is a hardtop (no post) then there would be a huge extra degree of difficulty.

 

Thanks Squablow. The '61 is a hard top. I do have a '60 2dr sedan that has all the parts to do another one like yours if ya know someone else that has a 4dr sedan.
