Needed a hammer with a radiused head for working on an inside curve; tried using an ordinary crosspein hammer but it was marking the panel. Started with this oddball hammer rescued from a mate's collection of stuff that he knew would "definitely come in useful one day"

Cut the existing ends off and machined a couple of spigots. The new 'faces' are a couple of offcuts of a European 4340 steel equivalent.

After drilling, I heated the new 'faces' and shrunk them onto the spigots before TIG welding them onto the head. Once that was done, I startde shaping the faces.

The finished hammer, one end has a tighter radius that the other.
