Cleaning out my barn, I’m finding a few things I didn’t know I had. Some things I just don’t remember at all. Like these...
Anyone know what they are for?

I want to say Buick backing plates later than 59 but it’s just a guess

    Smartass...
Notice the two bolts to attach it to the spindle? I thought that was odd.

never heard of anything with only two bolts to hold a backing plate, even light trailers. should narrow the search down quite a bit

Is that an aluminum backing plate? Odd. I was thinking trailer.

What ever it is, it's a self adjuster and those came out in the mid '50s.

I had a pair of those that I took off a '62 Buick to get the aluminum brake drums. Ended up using the hardware off them with '58 Buick backing plates. However, mine didn't come with self adjusters.

  12. Ford has some 2 bolt backing plates, around 1957 I think. HRP

Looks like the 3rd bolt to the spindle is above the wheel cylinder.
