i can say first ahnd these work amazing. We have alot of customers with high end performance cars with the rubber band tires that never feel PERFECT with regular static balancing. We use these in all the Vettes and G8 cars now and Gm has told us to do so also. Noone is as persnickety as a vette owner and even they dont come back whining about thier tires being out of balance. As for everything else though, they are pussies.

When the tire is sitting still in the garage....no it doesn't. But the balance is only an issue at speed. The beads disperse themselves to the areas that need the weight as the tire spine, balancing the rotating tire. It re-balances itself every time you get rolling. And does a good job too.

Actually it functions as a dampener. I know how it works. Everytime you change speed wether accelerating or slowing it changes. Yes it works, but it does not balance the wheel. It acts as a dapmener. I've never said it didn't work to make the ride smooth.

so... why not have the wheels balanced... AND put this stuff in? Sounds like the perfect setup..

    Well ok.

Do you have anything against them? Any reason to not use this method? I haven't found any negative aspects.

I've driven with them, but haven't had the need for them myself.
I haven't had a wheel yet that I couldn't get balanced properly, if the tire/wheel wouldn't balance I've found other problems, like it being out of round, they won't cure that. I guess it could be similar to even though I balance my engines I still run a dampener.

OK well if my tires are already balanced with weights, will this stuff make my ride any better?!? I'll try just about anything to get a smoother ride!!

Well, I didn't use them because I couldn't get a wheel balanced properly, I used them as an alternative. Didn't want the tire guys dicking up the powdercoating, and wheel weights are ugly. The stick-on weights don't work incredibly well either. I'd recommend dynabeads it to anyone.

  10. we see all the SHIT ever made to install inside of your tires for balancing at work...car tires, 4x4 tires...semi tires....as stated by others here,,, it does nothing but TRY to balance the harmonics...and is only good for that at a steady maintained speed..have had warranty issues thru Bridgestone, firestone, yokohama's dunlop, and kelly with these different types on internally balance tire things,,,biggest problem is that they all except marbles and golfballs will clump together when the moisture factor starts to work...and all tires get wet inside...and even if you removed the wet factor, none of them , even marbles and golf balls will equally disperse around the tire and settle where the lite spots are...most of the time, they will fill the egged spot in the tire first..and all tires have a spot that is egged...semi tires are hardest to balance,,,the manufacturers put a dot on the outside of tires to show where to line up the valve stems, figureing that the joint inside of the tire and the valve stem oppisite it will make for better balancing..without these lined up propperly, a tire will not balance the same 7 out 0f 10 times...probably get 10 different results...

and yes i know people here and else where will say i'm crazy and full of shit.....oh well.......throw your money at them and see what's up....
do ya feel lucky, punk?????well do ya?????sick em Dirty.......hahahhaha.....

The only real negative is tire life... but those firestones don't last very long anyway...

  12. was waiting for the centematics to show up in this thread...this is the only thing that the tire maufactorers i mentioned will warranty a tire that has worn impropperly as far as balancing goes...at $300-400 + a tire......semi's are costly on tires...thr only reason that the warranty the centramatics is due to the fact that the ring is perfectly round, the smaller bearings inside float in a fluid...IF THE CENTRAMATICS GET A DENT OR ARE DISTORTED, NO WARRANTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!as i stated, ALL TIRES ARE BUILT OUT OF BALANCE..............doesn't matter if steel belted or bais ply..there is always the over lapping of the tires wrapping..be it steel or glass belts........

Especially not when you run em horribly out of alignment for a whole weekend :p

The rear tires seem to have worn ok so far. But I don't exactly use it as a daily driver. Time will tell.

    Back when I had a 4x4...

I ended up running about a quart of antifreeze in each of the 35" Thornbirds I was running to keep the vibrations down on the highway. Worked like a charm and no way it can clump.

If you lost a bead on the trail it was no problem becaust you always carried a jug of antifreeze.

Before anyone asks: No, anitfreeze won't harm the rubber. If it did, all our cooling systems would be fucked.

It's not harming the rubber that worries me, but dumping it out in the woods when you lose a bead. Anti freeze is bad shit. Fucks shit up.

My brother uses the beads in his motorcycle. NO vibration at any speed. Before, with old method of balance, there would be some vibration at different speeds. He's ordering for his cars................

Sounds different, I just always have the weights put on the inside of the wheels
