tech or update? windshield frame

    a brief update,

    today I got the stantions almost ready for paint.

    here's one welded to a base plate

    couple small divots that could be welded and metal finished for chrome prep,

    but they're close enough for paint!

    The frame itself may need a little more surgery

    but definitely lots of gentle persuasion,

    it’s formed of very thin material and is a challenge to manipulate..

  12. This prolly sounds dumb but how did you bend the plate to fit the body? Oxy torch?

    cold, with a BFH and a chunk of railroad iron.

    basicly it's;

    pound, check fit, pound, check fit, pound, check fit, pound, check fit...

    I first tried bending it with the hydrolic press and a checking with a pattern,

    it bent easily but was easier and faster to get a better fit using the ball peen.
