Tech Question: Sticky Vinyl Seats

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by littledeucecoupe427, Jan 19, 2004.

  1. I was going to post my question anyways and it just so happens to be tech week so all the better.
I have sticky vinyl seats in my biscayne and I was wondering if there was a product or something that I could use to remove the stickyness of it all

    really though..
Have you tried getting a hold of your local upholstery shop? They may have some product they use for this problem.
    Just a thought.
    Rat..

  3. I talked to a friend of mine and he muttered something about vinyl cleaner from a hardware store, anyone know if that would work? [IMG]

  4. Clean it up with something - from the parts house or automotive section of your favorite big-box store.
(I've found diluted Simple Green works well.)

Afterward, go over it with Armorall.
Some guys don't like Armorall and there's probably some better and newer products out there.
I've been using Meguiars wipes for leather in my year old pickup. It does a nice job and would probably work well on vinyl.
(Test in an incon****ious place first though.)

  5. I usually scrub my vinyl seats with hand cleaner, loke gojo etc.then wipe with a good clean rag.Use a stiff bristle scrub brush and it should work pretty good!then put on vinyl dressing of choice ,I like the meguiars!

  6. Thanks guys I'll try that its onlt the flat vinyl not the part with the pattern on it, strange huh?

I'm with C9, Simple green has been one of my favorite cleaners for over 10 years but for vinyl I have found that a scrub brush and some 409 from the grocery store does about the best job for me.
