i would like to keep the stock pedal set up but change to a dual chamber cly.! what works good or who sells a good kit to use? mp brakes makes a power set up but i really don't want to go with a power booster or spend that much on their stuff.
I can't answer your question but I can tell you some b.s. I converted my 49 to power brakes and kept the pedal in the original position. Because we moved the master cylinder under the floor we went with a small diaphram unit. If I did it again I would get a larger diaphram or double em up or something because I do not have the stopping power I had hoped. Dan
Call me when you get here for the swap meet. I'll drag my now running (kinda) roadworthy (kinda) Merc out and let you look at the kit I bought. Any ape with two brain cells should be able to build one. I still owe you a dinner!
jk pm me your number and i'll call ya! but you know i only have one brain cell so i may be in trouble. i'll bet at the swapmeet thursday night till saturday.
hey i am interested in this immensely...can you post pictures or something,...i want to get the pieces ahead of time if possible... tok
FLAT, call me as soon as you get into town. We are doing a thrash on the car tonight!! I want you to come by and see it while it's still at the shop.
I think this exact question came up several months ago - try a search. Butch's used to carry a conversion, but they're no longer in business...
