Lux, since you are going to be doing this to make a profit invest in a pinion depth set up fixture. I dont remember off hand who makes them but I can find out if you need me to. The fixture will cut the gear set up time in at least half and the aggrivation factor at least as much. My guess is that once the public finds out that you are setting up gears you will be busier that the proverbial one legged man. Hell Buzzard tears up enough 8 inch Fords to keep a man busy full time.

Randy's carries a couple of depth checkers, & so does Powerhouse. Not vital to have for the home guy, but as mentioned a BIG time saver for a shop, especially when setting up a new third member from scratch, with no prior parts to reference.
Yeah....about that...I traded the "top secret" motor for a 572. it has a blower. it's theoretically streetable, but only if we bring alcohol with us.
So I got the bible in the mail today- it is the book mentioned about -"Differentials-Identification,restoration and repair" in the mail today. I am stunned at how comprehensive it is. and it is written in "good 'ol plain english" with clear pictures and excellent descriptions. I wish I had 4 hands so I could give it 4 thumbs up! seriously. this book is *****in'!
