And, a lot of those mid-century lamps had really nice conduits for wire routing. I too liked the slots, but either way it's what hot rodding is all about. If some billet company made one of those it'd probably cost $150 and not look as good as yours!

There's a great welder in this town, but he's a nerd. Bought a nice '53 F100 I told him about, out in a field in Chowchilla.
He had to show me his repairs on the hood last week, dumb shit welded 4 rows of 26 shut!
Hammered 104 'Good Times' louvers flat, gas welded them, and filed each one to finish.
Then told me how many hours it took him to 'Bring it Back'!
    All the fools aren't dead...

Thanks for this. I was wondering how to mate a '40 deluxe steering wheel to a '32 or '51 F-100 coulumn and this should work great.

  5. Went to Bed, Bath and Beyond yesterday. The salesperson said they were a back to school special and they no longer carry that lamp. Couldn't find it in their computer or by checking other stores over the phone. I found one similar one at another big box store but the shape is not the same. Great idea so I'll keep searching

  6. Look at track lighting; multiple brands with different shapes.
