Thanks everyone for the great comments. I can't wait to get started on the rest of it. We are planning to metal finish it and possibly display it at the Goodguys Colorado Nationals in June.

I think I will actually start a seperate build thread to showcase the complete vehicle since this thread is a "tech week" entry. I will post a link on this one once we are done with the contest.

Nevermind on the above! Continuing on this thread.

Very cool thread! I like the way you reinforced the A pillars. I've wondered in the past about the issue you addressed. The way you cut the roof at the back makes a lot of sense as well. Subscribed.

Well done and I picked up a few pointers along the way.

That model of coupe is probably one of the hardest cars of all to chop and have it look right and I think you may have nailed it this time. I really like the quarter window treatment as that is where chops on these cars tend to loose me along with leaving the hickup above the rear window that 95% of them have but you got that right too.

I used tons of clecos 45 or so years ago when I spent a summer working at Boeing and have always thought I needed some. Now it's time to hunt some down.

Actually, if you notice earlier on on the post, someone corrected us to a club coupe. Thought that was right. But thanks anyway. I guess.

Well, JimC is partially correct. He removed his post but I did some research and found that this indeed is a called a Sedan Coupe, the shorter door car is a Business Coupe in 1947 but the word "Club" is only used with Convertibles. Incidently, the last time the name "Club Coupe" was used was in 1938.

Here is where I found my info: http://www.earlyfordv8.org/early-ford-car-codes.cfm

Thanks JimC. I find it odd that the only reason you did not vote for us was because of the name error? Wow.
