That's a pretty magnificent ashtray door. I just took mine out and shaved it. That looks amazing

Tech week winner just for the great play on the classic HAMB "toes in the picture" shot! Seriously though this is a great tech write up, I can think of more than a few applications for something like this around my shop. You have a great gift for making metal shaping accessible to guys like me that don't have all the trick tools, thanks for all the time you take to write this stuff up!

no problem!, in fact it was a fun little project.

As for the toes,, I got tired of staging the pic, then chasing off one or both cats in order to shoot it, so there will more often than not be a cat in the pics.

quality craftsmanship on the smallest of projects is what makes hot rodding cool. a lot of time and pride went into that, knowing full well that 90% of people will never notice it. just a really cool project!

  10. :D 99% won't know, it is an invisible mod but supremely practical and necessary for my needs. I will try to show it off, but the idea was for stealth-a stock appearing dash with some phantom changes. (yes there are others;))

  11. Really a cool project bro, my heart skipped a beat when I saw your assistant on the project, I lost my buddy about two years ago and really miss him. We surfed the H.A.M.B. every a.m. with a cup-o-mud. I love the job ya did and loved the kitty at first site. Enjoy and thanx for the way cool tech sharing. ~sololobo~

The little arms in front of the hinge mounts grab the opening and hold it closed. When its in the closed position its almost balanced on the hinge so it wont take much.

Thanks for the votes,, wish there were more but in any event this was a great tech week for sure!
