I made a stainless motor mount plate for my red ram 241 hemi and I’m running polyurethane bushings to attach it to the frame tabs , does anybody have knowledge of how much they move with vibration? Are they pretty much rigid?

Poly bushings are so ridged they squeak.

They can't move much but they sure transmit a lot of vibrations. Might not be what you want to hear (pun intended), or more pertinently, feel. I had the same bushings on a sbc in a '37 that was driven a lot. Swapping to stock Chevy rubber mounts made one heck of a difference.

You might want to investigate rubber bushings. For example, the kind used in leaf spring eyes. Cylindical, steel shells....or not, and metal bushed where the bolt p***es through. I do agree that the urethane bushings are not very good for absorbing/dampening vibrations. Nonetheless, the mount is very nice!

That truck water pump housing does a nice job of getting the fan raised for early style radiators.

  7. So here is what little I know. To get any motor to move around (Shake, Rattle or Vibs) it takes a camshaft more than stock. These little motors are very Mild by most standards. I mean think about it, 241ci. isn't even as big as the first Chevrolet V-8. So it's a Hemi and that alone conjurers up visions of Krazzy Fast. I have one of these and love it but I know the difference between Big and Small. These are small but still very Kool in the right vehicle. Mine is in a 53 F-100. It has some Voo Doo done to it and runs very nice but I still have to pay attention when stepping out into traffic. I had a 300 ci. Ford 6cyl for a while and it would run circles around this little Hemi. That said like you I had to do something for front Motor Mounts. What I did is much like yours but not as involved or as Pretty. I also run a Mopar 883 behind it. On the 3rd test drive things went krazzy. I pulled to the side and got out for a look. I had snapped off both 3/8" bolts holding the mount to the pump housing. We towed it back and thinking I must have just not tightened them up correctly I drilled them out and replaced them. A couple more test drives and I had a repeat issue. This time I added 2 sleeves with gussets and went to the bottom timing cover bolts thinking I'd stop the leverage. That lasted a little longer and I was keeping an eye on things when I seen paint starting to crack and I knew I wasn't there yet. I still have a leverage issue. Yes it has had rubber between the motor plate and frame mounts all along. This project has been on hold for longer than I want to admit but before I take it out again I will be adding side mounts at the Bellhousing like the stock Ford Truck had to try to keep things where they belong. Not having side mount provisions on the Block is a real issue.
